Though many dresses and accessories are received through donation, financial support is critical to achieving our mission. Funding is needed to cover the purchase of dresses and shoes in sizes that are rarely received through donation.

The average Kenzie’s CLOSET shopper wears a size 20 dress, but dresses in sizes larger than 14 are rarely donated. Dresses in sizes 16 to 32 must be purchased, and larger dresses are almost twice as expensive as those in smaller sizes. We work with local retailers to purchase gowns as cost-effectively as possible. Financial support will enable Kenzie’s CLOSET to outfit, even provide choices, to every girl who is referred.

Monetary contributions are also needed to help meet ongoing operating expenses. Relationships with area businesses such as Appearance Plus Cleaners have helped us with dry cleaning services, but everyday expenses remain. These range from rent and utilities to sewing equipment and community awareness efforts.
